Data Rights Protocol

Project Background

Data rights give consumers agency over their personal information. Through new data privacy legislation, consumers are gaining new rights to better control the way their data is used. The Data Rights Protocol (DRP) is a technical solution that helps bring these new rights to life.

The Identity

The goal of this project was to help produce an identity for the Data Rights Protocol team, taking the nuance of a highly technical process, and applying a system that stands out amongst other in the industry, while giving clients in the space visuals that help them easily digest how this standard makes it easier for companies to honor consumer data rights requests.

The Logo

This logo uses a shield shape to anchor the mark in ideas of privacy and protection, while a subtle "D" is worked into the form. Within the shield, an abstracted figure on a  laptop represents the exchange of information between parties, grounding the mark in the human side of data and personal information.

The Website

Part of the design challenge was creating a comprehensive site that caters to multiple audiences. For consumers, each page had to be clear and efficient to help give context to those who are curious of how this protocol can help their data rights. Additionally, for future agents and providers looking to become involved, the site is clean, professional and fits well in the tech privacy space stylistically.
